TPDCo Launches Heritage360 Digital Campaign to Showcase Jamaica’s Rich Cultural Heritage

KINGSTON, Jamaica (October 5, 2026) – The Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo), through its Urban Planning & Heritage Unit, has launched Heritage360, a new annual digital marketing campaign aimed at promoting greater awareness, appreciation and preservation of Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage.

The campaign, which will run from October 2026 to February 2027, uses digital media, storytelling, interactive content and public participation to showcase the traditions, customs, festivals, food, historic places and cultural practices that help define Jamaica’s identity. As an annual initiative, Heritage360 is intended to become a recurring platform for highlighting the country’s diverse heritage and strengthening public engagement with Jamaica’s cultural assets.

Heritage360 forms part of TPDCo’s broader efforts to support heritage preservation and cultural tourism development while encouraging Jamaicans to explore and celebrate the unique elements of their national identity.

A major component of this year’s campaign is the Island Identity Photo Contest, which opens on October 9, 2026. The competition invites Jamaicans across the island to capture and submit photographs that reflect the essence of Jamaican heritage, culture and identity.

Participants are encouraged to showcase heritage sites, traditional customs, community traditions, cultural festivals, indigenous crafts, culinary practices and other elements that tell the story of Jamaica’s people and places. The competition seeks to highlight the many ways in which heritage continues to shape everyday life and inspire national pride.

Following the submission period, entries will be shortlisted and displayed across TPDCo’s digital platforms, allowing the public to participate in online voting.

Beyond the photo contest, Heritage360 will deliver a diverse programme of digital content designed to educate, inform and engage audiences. Activities will begin with the campaign launch and continue throughout the period with heritage features, educational infographics, cultural storytelling and social media engagement initiatives.

Among the featured highlights is a special focus on the Hosay (Hussay) Festival, one of Jamaica’s most significant cultural traditions, which will be explored through dedicated digital content released in October. The campaign will also include interactive heritage-themed challenges and cultural activities throughout January, encouraging audiences to test their knowledge of Jamaican traditions, cuisine and identity through social media engagement.

The initiative will culminate in February with “Taste the Tradition,” a digital feature that explores the stories, history and cultural significance behind some of Jamaica’s most cherished foods and culinary traditions.

Through Heritage360, TPDCo’s Urban Planning & Heritage Unit aims to increase public awareness of Jamaica’s cultural resources while demonstrating the important role heritage plays in community development, cultural preservation and destination competitiveness.

Members of the public are encouraged to follow TPDCo’s social media platforms (@tpdcoja) and website (tpdco.org) for campaign updates, competition details, voting information and upcoming Heritage360 features throughout the campaign period.
