Mount Airy Vs. Corinaldi Ave.

mount airyIn this episode of the TPDCo Tourism Quiz, we saw two western schools battling for the first semi-final spot. It was the well experienced quiz team Mount Airy Primary from Westmoreland and returning participants, Corinaldi Avenue Primary out of the resort town of Montego Bay.

For section one, which lasts six minutes, Mount Airy was leading with 14 points, with Corinaldi Avenue falling 4 points behind. However, this section was not enough to rule out a clear winner, as both schools clearly came charged and ready to win.

By the speed round in section two, which is dubbed “Tourism In 90 Seconds”, Mount Airy was maintaining an impressive lead with 22 points and Corinaldi Avenue on 14 points. However, that it was still “any man’s game” as the third section can throw some surprises.

Section Three, the Tourism challenge section is one that clearly requires a strategy and preparation so that each team is not thrown off by the other. It takes skill, concentration and great control of emotions, particularly when a 6 point question is not in the team’s favour.

It was clear that Corinaldi Avenue had the better strategy in this match and they managed to earn the first semifinal spot to play Broughton Primary.

It will be an exciting semifinal match on Monday May 27th as we take one step closer to find out who will be the season two champion of the TPDCo Tourism Quiz.

Remember to tune into TVJ on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 pm, and if you happen to miss those days, the matches are replayed on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:35 am.
