The Tourism Product Development Company Ltd. (TPDCo.) is seeking to identify a qualified, motivated and result-oriented professional to fill the following position:

 

Operations Manager – Portland

 

Under the supervision of the Property Manager, the Operations Manager manages the operations at the One Love on the Rio: Berrydale and Rafters Rest offices and Raft Captain Roster board.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Supervises the day to day operation of Rio Grande Tours
  • Ensure that staff has the necessary tools, inspect supplies, equipment and work areas in order to ensure efficient services and conformance to standards
  • Welcome visitors to the attraction and resolves visitor complaints
  • Analyses operational problems such as theft and wastage and recommend procedures to alleviate them
  • Prepares raft captain payroll and send information to TPDCo
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment needed to ensure quality service
  • Compiles and balances cash receipts and inventories at end of day
  • Prepares lodgements and make payments
  • Prepares a weekly operational report
  • Liaise with TPDCo on behalf of Raft Captains and staff.
  • Do collection of receivables and send out bills to tour companies.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing and answering the telephone.
  • Distributes inter office correspondence as requested.
  • Runs minor errands as requested, photo copy documents/correspondence when requested.
  • Performs any other related duty when assigned.

 

Required Competencies

The post-holder will be able to demonstrate:

  • Sound knowledge of the attraction
  • Ability to speak the English language fluently
  • Sound supervisory skills
  • Good written communication skills

  • Good ability to work effectively with other team members to achieve team goals.
  • Good ability to effectively interact with a diversity of persons.

 

 

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a similar field
