As part of their 25th-anniversary celebration, and in a bid to raise awareness about their services, the Tourism Product Development Company Limited hosted a free tourism-focused webinar for the public on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Aired via Zoom, Facebook and Youtube, the session addressed crucial tourism services such as licensing, COVID-19 compliance certification and TPDCo training programmes.

Other partners, from Reliable Adventures Jamaica, Dunn’s River and Royalton were also present to provide information on their handling of the current pandemic and how to work through the setbacks.

The two- and half-hour long webinar featured a message from Tourism Minister, Honourable Edmund Bartlett. Minister Bartlett charged attendees to absorb and apply the information as much as possible, as the sector undergoes its recovery process.

“I am pleased that some of our key stakeholders have come on board to present you with expert knowledge on how to weather the pandemic and come out stronger than before. In the tourism sector, we are blessed to have many channels of support, and with this free information, I urge you to act, use it to your benefit. Utilize the information provided to improve your respective businesses or your various fields.”

Acting Executive Director of TPDCo, Stephen Edwards, also delivered a message to all attendees and urged the participants to apply the knowledge garnered and take advantage of the services offered by TPDCo.

“I am confident that you will walk away with a clearer understanding of the tourism sector and how you can improve yourselves and your businesses. We have been receiving numerous queries on our many services, and we thought it fit to address all your concerns in real-time and in one space.”

The webinar recording will be available for later viewing on the Jamaica Information Service’s (JIS) and TPDCo’s Youtube and Facebook pages. For pressing matters and assistance, the public is invited to send all queries to TPDCo’s mailbox at letusknow@tpdco.org
