TPDCo, through its Product Quality department, seeks to strengthen the overall standards and quality of entities in order to facilitate the competitiveness of the tourism industry. This is implemented via the dissemination of quality standards and systems designed to upgrade the health, safety, and security of product offerings.

International Benchmarks

The Product Quality department conducts quality assurance assessments and monitoring of the industry and makes recommendations to guide the development of standards in operations as well as inform on international benchmarks. The department has been instrumental over the years through its linkages with other agencies and associations in encouraging operations towards HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) systems in the food safety areas, Green Globe certification in the accommodations sector which is also geared towards environment management systems, ISO1400, ISO 9000 and Blue Flag for the beaches.

Operations Audit

TPDCo’s Product Quality department conducts operation audits for entities seeking incentives under the Hotel and Attraction Incentive Programme. This audit also seeks to develop and upgrade existing operations and offer guidance for specific projects. The department comprises trained personnel in HACCP Certifications and auditing of benchmarks inclusive of Environmental Management Systems, for the accommodation and attractions sectors.
