Mona Prep vs. Naggo Head Primary

broughton and cariIt’s the semi-finals of the 2nd season of the TPDCo Tourism Quiz. After weeks of preparation, we are down to four schools who will contend for a spot in the finals. These schools will have an opportunity to win many great prizes and awards.

——

For the first semi-final match, it was two teams from the west, Broughton Primary, defending champions and 2018 quarter finalists, Corinaldi Avenue Primary from St. James.

Both teams, having experience from last year knew what to expect and how to play the game. Both displayed sound knowledge of the tourism product and seemingly chose the best student for each subject area. In section one; both teams had their eye on the prize it seemed, with Broughton Primary leading with 13 points and Corinaldi Avenue Primary on 5 points behind.

Section two, although not the round to determine the winner, can allow many teams to recover from section one, if needs be. In this section, Broughton managed to maintain the lead with 31 points, and Corinaldi Avenue Primary with 16 points.

Although Broughton was maintaining a strong lead, section three, the risk or reward round, makes it possible for anyone to win. Broughton started off as usual with a 6 point social studies question, which they didn’t answer correctly, and for a moment, Corinaldi Avenue started bagging many points. At the end, while everyone waited with bated breath, defending champion Broughton was on their way to the finals with 36 points, while Corinaldi Avenue, who played extremely well was close behind with 31 points.
