The Tourism Product Development Company Ltd. (TPDCo.) is seeking to identify a qualified, motivated and
result-oriented professional to fill the following position:

Executive Tourism Training Manager – Kingston

Under the direction of the Director of Product Quality and Training, the Executive Tourism Training
Manager plans, designs, and evaluates training and learning events to meet the needs of current and potential
employees in the tourism industry in Jamaica.

                                                           KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researches the training needs of the sector on a regular basis in order to arrive at appropriate training
interventions
• Designs, develops and coordinates training and learning events to meet the needs and standards of the
tourism industry
• Consults with clients to ensure that constituents training and learning needs are met
• Recruits and trains instructors and assessors to meet the training and learning needs of constituents
• Leads the function of marketing TPDCo’s training programmes
• Ensures the preparation and development of training brochures, course schedules, curricula,
reference/resource materials meet the organization’s standards for dissemination to the public
• Designs training sessions as necessary
• Evaluates quality of instruction, course content, participants’ response to training, effectiveness of
training and learning events in order to improve quality of training and learning events and provide
feedback to instructors
• Maintains necessary updated records of staff performance and units expenses and revenue
• Provides leadership and coaching of direct reports through the setting and monitoring of performance
objectives, conducting performance appraisals, effective participative management and delegation
• Oversees the preparation of the unit’s work programmes and budgets
• Establishes and maintains collaboration internally and externally to ensure that local and regional
industry training and education standards are recognized and “kept abreast of” current training outcome.
• Facilitates the funding of training interventions through collaboration with external funding entities,
both local and foreign.
• Performs other related functions assigned from time to time by the Director of corporate services.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development or equivalent
• 5 years’ experience in tourism training/education.
• Drivers License
• Reliable Motor Vehicle
