TPDCo to host mobile tourism licence processing

For the period May 19 – July 12, 2022, tourism businesses are being encouraged to attend a series of licence processing and consultations to be hosted by the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo). The event dubbed, ‘bring your application day” will take place across five resort areas and will include same day new and renewal tourism licence processing, as well as on the spot consultations for established and aspiring tourism businesses.

The event has the objectives to facilitate quality standard adherence within the tourism sector, and to generate awareness of the tourism licence processing, and its benefits for service providers.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to have concerns addressed, with not only TPDCo, but partnering agencies as well. The partners include the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), The Public Health Authority, National Environmental and Planning Agency (NEPA), the Fire department, the municipal corporation for each region, among others.

According to Licence Processing and Registration Manager for TPDCo, Sheryll Lewis “We envision that this event will not only facilitate the processing of licences but will also encourage compliance across the tourism sector. In the long run, with the quality assurance that is achieved through assessments and licensing, we will achieve even greater customer satisfaction from visitors and maintain competitive advantage for the destination”
