The Tourism Product Development Company Ltd. (TPDCo.) is seeking to identify a qualified, motivated and results-oriented professional to fill the following position:

 

License Processing Officer (Level 8) –Kingston

 

Under the supervision of the License Processing and Registration Manager, the License Processing Officer reviews all applications for the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) Licenses and submits to the JTB all completed and relevant documentation for licensing. The Incumbent will collect, interpret and key all data relating to the processing of licenses.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Processes applications for the approval of JTB licences by the Jamaica Tourist Board.
  • Prepares and disburses approved JTB licences;
  • Attends to all relevant correspondence in a timely manner;
  • Processes all documents to be reviewed for incentives assigned to that desk;
  • Attends incentive meetings and other meetings as assigned;
  • Maintains telephone directory of frequently called numbers;
  • Assists with the organization of seminars and workshops inclusive of agendas and material for distribution;
  • Assists with presentations at seminars;
  • Assists with projects as requested;
  • Provide representation as requested on special committees and projects;
  • Assists with maintenance of information for TPDCo’s webs site;
  • Records minutes of meetings as assigned and distributes in a timely manner;
  • Assists with the daily management of the unit;
  • Maintains adequate supply of pre-requisite and application forms for licences;
  • Manage, monitor and collates information from all required regulatory agencies such as the Public Health Department, Fire Department, NEPA etc. from all regions;
  • Maintenance of spreadsheets on a daily, weekly, monthly basis;
  • Database maintenance of active tourism entities;
  • Disbursement of monthly updated spreadsheets to relevant departments and agencies;
  • Completion of necessary reports as requested;
  • Maintenance of entity files in accordance to RIM protocols;
  • Assists with coordinating the review and dissemination of the Contract Carriage and Craft Dispatching listing;
  • Interfaces with new and existing customers on licensing requirements;
  • Collaborates with Product Quality Officers towards licensing compliance of tourism entities; and
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of Tourist Board Act and tourism sector
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and generate reports
  • Results Oriented

 

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related studies.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience
