Both clad in their bright pink uniforms, the teams from Mount St. Joseph Prep and Corinaldi Avenue Primary came out with a ray of confidence and bright smiles. Both teams were versed on tourism related information. No team kept a staggering lead over the other, and kept it pretty close up to the end. In the first round, the points were Mount St. Joseph 13 and Corinaldi Avenue Primary 11. Displaying their zeal to win, the students quickly answered the questions, and passed when necessary, a way to beat the clock and get more time to churn out the answers they knew. By the end of section two, Mount St. Joseph was at 24 points, leading by 5. Having previously been introduced to the Tourism Challenge section, the teams used personally developed strategies to gain the most points from the categories they knew well.
In the end, although both teams played well, it was Mount St. Joseph Prep that emerged as the winner with a 34 win over Corinaldi Avenue Primary’s 28. In the true spirit of sportsmanship, both captains heartily shook hands! (no hard feelings from these upcoming superstars)
The TPDCo Tourism Quiz was created to familiarize Primary level students about Jamaica’s tourism product.
