One of the major roles of the TPDCo is to maintain quality in the industry.  That is to ensure destination integrity and assurance.  This is done through the establishment, inspection and monitoring of standards of all entities operating in the industry.  TPDCO is also responsible for the creation, organization and conduct of training and skills upgrading programmes which facilitate the development of the human resource in the industry.

Another role of TPDCo is to create, organize and conduct training and skills upgrading programmes which facilitate the development of the human resource in Jamaica’s Tourism industry.  These programmes range from foreign language skills training and professional villa care to tour guiding and our flagship Team Jamaica training with several others which can be customized depending on the needs of our partners:
