A development plan to upgrade the island’s resorts is now in place. Emphasis will be placed on lifting the aesthetic quality of the towns through beautification projects, upgrading facilities to improve convenience to visitors and mobilizing communities to become more involved as stakeholders in the towns’ development and sustainability.

Members of the communities will be encouraged through mobilization strategies ‘to find the fit’ between community and tourism, focusing on authenticity and quality, and the preservation and protection of resources.
